Gilbert schools carry on FFA agricultural legacy

Agriculture has long been part of Gilbert’s identity, dating back to its early development as a farming community known as the “Hay Capital of the World.”

Today, that legacy continues through agriscience programs and FFA chapters in Gilbert Public Schools.

An exhibit at HD South, titled “FFA in Gilbert: Cultivating Leadership, Service and Agricultural Excellence,” documents that history through June 16. The display features photographs, memorabilia and historical records from local FFA members, highlighting the evolution of agricultural education in the community.
